At the meeting, the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City also passed a resolution on a policy to support the cost of eye refractive treatment for citizens registering to perform military service and people's police service.
According to the resolution, those who receive support are permanent residents in Ho Chi Minh City, registered to perform military service, people's police service but do not meet the recruitment standards according to regulations due to having refractive errors. eye. These people need to volunteer for eye refractive treatment and be examined by an ophthalmologist and assessed for eligibility for military recruitment after refractive treatment.
The support level for each of the above cases is no more than 9.8 million VND for one eye surgery and no more than 19.6 million VND for both eye surgery. Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee will allocate funds to districts and Thu Duc City to spend directly on citizens.
It is expected that in 2023, the funding to support the treatment of eye refractive errors for citizens in Ho Chi Minh City is more than 5.8 billion VND. If approved, this support policy will be applied from October 1.
